PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new promoter containing a specific base sequence, and useful for e.g. preparing transgenic swine each bearing heterotransplantable tissue/organ integrated with a thrombogenesis-inhibitory factor such as human complement inhibitor or thrombomodulin. SOLUTION: This promoter is such a new promoter for swine complement inhibitor as to consist of a new DNA composed of a base sequence of the formula or part thereof, or a DNA containing the base sequence. When this new promoter is used for preparing transgenic swine each integrated with a thrombogenesis-inhibitory factor such as human complement inhibitor and/or thrombomodulin, the factor such as human complement inhibitor can be expressed effectively; thus preventing a hyperacute rejection developing when swine tissue/organ is transplanted to human and enabling such heterotransplantation as to transplant swine tissue/organ to human and therefore enabling the settlement of the problem of donor shortage for organ transplantation. |
