PURPOSE:To obtain the subject fiber, having a respective specific fiber length and fiber diameter, a large fiber length and high aspect ratio with great entanglement of fiber and optimum as an electrolyte holding material for molten salt fuel cells. CONSTITUTION:gamma-Lithium aluminate fiber having 5-30mum fiber length and 0.5-3mum fiber diameter. The aforementioned fiber is obtained by mixing 1mol gamma-alumina with 1.5-10mol lithium hydroxide and 1-10 mol sodium hydroxide, heating the resultant raw material at 200-700 deg.C for 15min to 50hr, providing beta-lithium aluminate fiber having 10-20mum length, then reheating the produced fiber at 650-950 deg.C for 15min to 150hr and subjecting the crystals to transition from the gamma-form to the gamma-form. |
