PURPOSE:To provide an antioxidant excellent in preventing of autooxidation caused by sunlight, etc., and inexpensive by incorporating a neodymium org. compd. as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:An antioxidant is prepd. by incorporating a neodymium org. compd. as an active ingredient. As the neodymium org. compd., a salt of neodymium with an org. acid (e.g. 2-ethylhexylic acid) or complex salts of neodymium with a dialkyldithiocarbamic acid, dithiobenzil, acetylacetone, etc., are pref. used. The obtd. antioxidant can be widely used for org. substances susceptible to oxidative deterioration, such as plastics, rubbers and kerosene. As the effective loading of the neodymium compd., 0.1-3wt.% for plastics and rubbers and 0.05-0.3wt.% for petroleum products are suitable. |
