Computer system for encouraging collective creativity

The system includes several computers linked by local networks or via the Internet. Each user using one of the several computers has an identical display (20) on the computer screen. In the centre of the display are text display panels. The upper panel (23) is for participants to suggest ideas. The middle panel (24) is for commenting on the ideas. The lower panel (25) lists the participants. To prompt the participants' thought processes, the sides of the display have a background (26) which can carry graphics which indicate the subject under discussion. Superimposed on the graphic background are inset pictures of objects (27) and stylised figures (28). The side displays can be updated during the session to indicate progress made in creativity.
