FIELD: physics, measurements. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to non-destructive testing procedures and is designed to determine the degree of wear of steel ropes in their operation. In compliance with this invention, the proposed device comprises AC power supply, excitation winding connected to the latter, measurement winding and measuring unit connected thereto. Aforesaid excitation winding is rigidly fixed on the outer lateral surface of composite ferromagnetic circular core made up of two identical parts arranged symmetrically with respect to horizontal plane. A flat diamagnetic circular insert is fitted between the parts of aforesaid core. The measurement winding is fitted onto the core pole tips. The flat circular diamagnetic insert in the composite ferromagnetic circular core allows increasing accuracy of pinpointing defect point, since the available gap corresponding to diamagnetic insert thickness localises measured magnetic field. Locating the said measurement winding on the ferromagnetic core tips and excitation winding on its side surface ensures the maximum possible and invariable ratio of coupling between the winding thus eliminating the ratio dependence upon the coil arrangement and shape, which allows reducing measurement errors. ^ EFFECT: higher accuracy of control. ^ 1 dwg |
