PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smooth the flow of automobiles by settling charge in a freeway without stopping the automobiles, to reduce exhaust gas and noise in the neighborhood of a toll booth gate, and to unnecessitate a money collecting work at the toll booth gate. SOLUTION: A light transmitting and receiving device 3 and a light transmitting and receiving device 4 are provided at the prescribed positions of an automobile 1 and a toll booth gate 2. The automobile 1 emits necessary information from the light transmitting and receiving device 3 of the automobile 1 to the light transmitting and receiving device 4 of the toll booth gate 2 as a modulated light L1 while traveling. On the other hand, necessary information is also emitted from the light transmitting and receiving device 4 to the light transmitting and receiving device 3 as a modulated light L2 , and the exchange of the information is operated. Here, the light is a laser beam capable of high speed modulation with wavelength more than 1.4μm and low spatial coherency. The automobile 1 exchanges the information with the light transmitting and receiving device 4 at the toll booth gate while traveling at the entrance and exit of the toll booth gate, calculates charge based on that, and operates electronic settlement. |
