<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network switch increasing the throughput of a data packet. SOLUTION: The switch is provided with plural network ports 104, plural buffers 206, a matrix switch 200 and a switch controller 208. By the control by the switch controller, the connected/disconnected state of the matrix is set and data from one I/O port is selectively stored in one buffer through the matrix switch and supplied to the other I/O port from this buffer. At the time of receiving a packet by either of the I/O ports, the switch controller detects a free buffer and refers to the number of the buffer and the number of a pre-pending I/O port for outputting to control the connection of the matrix switch. Thereby, plural pieces of data are efficiently transmitted through the I/O ports.</p> |
