PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and quickly retrieve a document by making it possible to borrow a retrieving condition for preceding retrieval executed by another retriever. SOLUTION: A history storing device 7 stores retrieving history having a retrieving item group including at least an item of 'retriever', a retrieving condition and information indicating a retrieved result. When a document is retrieved, a history storing means 5 stores its retrieving history in the device 7. When the retrieval of retrieving history is instructed by specifying the condition of a retrieving element including the specification of another retriever in 'retrieval of succeeding document', a history retrieving means 6 retrieves retrieving history satisfying the specification of the condition of the retrieving element inputted by the 'retrieval of succeeding document' from the device 7. At the time of retrieving a document for which the retrieval of the retrieving history is instructed by specifying the condition of the retrieving element, a retrieving means 2 retrieves a document borrowing the retrieving condition of the retrieving history retrieved by the means 6.
