PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a user from having nothing to do and make the elapse state of a wait time easy to know by making a bar display showing the elapse of an in-actuation period or data read-in period on a television or VTR screen. SOLUTION: The screen of TV is displayed to prevent the user from having nothing to do and the large-sized bar display showing the elapse of the starting of the Internet is provided at part of the TV screen. The figure shows how display screens 1-4 of the display change when a connection with the Internet is started. Thus, a TV image is displayed on the entire screen of the display to prevent the user from feeling bored until the Internet connection is completed, and the bar display showing the elapse of the actuation is displayed on the TV screen to let the user easily know the elapse state. Then the screen 4 appears on the completion of a read of a browser and thus the screen is switched automatically to the screen of the Internet, so that the user starts operation on the screen of the Internet thereafter.
