摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a highly reliable sound velocity fluctuation covariance matrix in the case of a scanty preliminary observation data in a three-dimensional oceanic acoustic tomography. SOLUTION: In a ray extractor 14, a propagation path is concentrated as near the sound axis as possible out of sound rays identified in traverse lines and stable sound rays separable from other sound rays are extracted one per traverse line. A sound velocity fluctuation estimating device 15 uses the sound rays and employs a model in which a narrow area as possible sandwiching a path of the sound rays is arranged as one vertical section to estimate the degree of fluctuation in the sound velocity. A correlative length calculator 16 calculates a changed distance from the distribution of the fluctuation in sound velocity. A dispersion distribution generator 17 determines the square of the fluctuation in sound velocity per square to calculate a dispersionσ2 . Finally, a sound velocity fluctuation covariance calculator 18 calculates a covariance using a correlative length calculated by the correlative length calculator and the dispersion and the covariance are placed respectively into corresponding elements to generate a sound velocity fluctuation covariance matrix to be used for the prime analysis.
