<p>An apparatus for encoding and decoding an audio signal and a method thereof are provided to represent the location of a time slot, to which a first parameter set is applied, as an absolute value and represent the location of a time slot, to which a second or more parameter sets are applied, as a difference value, thereby reducing the amount of transmission data. A bsFramingType field(1301) indicates whether the spatial frame of an audio signal is a fixed frame type or a variable frame type, and the fixed frame indicates a frame, of which parameter sets are applied to a predetermined time slot. A bsNumParamSets field(1302) indicates the number of the parameter sets within a spatial frame(numParamSets=bsNumparaSets+1). A bsParamSlot field(1303) indicates the location information of the time slot to which the parameter sets are applied. The bsParamSlot field is represented as the variable number of bits using numSlots, the number of the time slots within a spatial frame.</p> |
