PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the camera main body small without being limited by the capacity of an external memory such as a memory card and to easily increase number of frames able to pick up an image actually even when number of frames to be recorded in a built-in memory is small. SOLUTION: A camera 10 records image data denoting an object image obtained via an image pickup lens and an image pickup element to a built-in memory able to record image data for a plurality of frames provided in the camera main body. When the recording capacity of the built-in memory is fully occupied, a memory card 12 is inserted to a card slot 14 to be connected to a card connector. In this case, 1/3 of the length of the memory card 12 in the inserted direction or over is to be exposed and the small sized camera not limited by the standards of the memory card 12 is produced. |
