PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized and thin shape bar code reading device. SOLUTION: The bar code reading device is equipped with a scanning pattern forming means 6 for reflecting a laser beam projected from a laser beam source and forming a scanning pattern when a bar code is scanned, a light converging means 9 for converging the reflected light from the bar code, and a light receiving sensor 10 for receiving the light converged by the light converging means 9 and transducing the received light into an electric signal. In the bar code reading device for reading a bar code symbol BS by projecting the laser beam, scanning the bar code symbol BS and receiving the reflected light from the bar code symbol BS, a reflecting mirror 8 for putting the laser beam projected from the laser beam source on a first optical axis and leading to the scanning pattern forming means 6 is provided, and the light converging means 9 and the light receiving sensor 10 are arranged on the extended line of the first optical axis. |
