PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor in which the saving of memories to be assigned at the time of a color reduction processing, the enhancing of a color reduction processing speed and a satisfactory color reproduction after the color reduction, can be compatible with each other. SOLUTION: Color segmentation tables of the pieces of the third power of (n) are produced by generating histograms of red, green and blue by a histogram generating means and by respectively dividing these pixel ranges into (n) pieces and by selecting pixel elements whose frequencies are the highest in respective divided ranges and by combining divided ranges of respective colors of red, green and blue (S1113). Then, typical colors for performing the color reduction of input data are extracted by distributing input pixel values to the produced color segmentation tables and by extracting color segmentation tables in which the occurrence frequency of distributed pixel values is numerous in an order by the number of requirements and by allotting elements selected by a selection means to respective R, G, B elements of the color segmentation tables. |
