PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and clearly display an appropriate placing posture of a document by providing an document supporting plane, a scanning mechanism, and a transparent contact plane and an orientation indicator for displaying the direction of the document mounted on the contact plane on the the document supporting plane. SOLUTION: The document supporting plane 10 includes the transparent contact plane 12 and a peripheral part 14. When the document is scanned through the transparent contact plane 12, the document is placed on the contact plane 12 is a state of the image side down, and a corner part of the document is made to match with a left side upper corner 12A on the contact plane 12. Two orientation indicators 16 and 18 are respectively indicator for displaying the direction of the document placed on the contact plane 12, and respective oblong shape of the orientation indicators 16 and 18 are a miniture display of the document, indicating for a user in which direction the document should by placed on the contact plane 12 for the appropriate deocument scanning. |
