PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce cost and weight, eliminate the clouding, and make a mirror surface hardly damaged by providing a super-hydrophilic thin film coating layer on the surface of a stainless material subjected to hard chromium plating. SOLUTION: A base material 1 formed of stainless plate is made into a necessary form such as concave or convex surface, and the surface of the base material 1 is then subjected to hard chromium plating to form a hard chromium plating layer 2. The plating layer 2 surface is polished and mirror finished. A thin film formed of photocatalyst is baked on the polished surface to provide a mirror surface coated with a super-hydrophilic thin film 3. Thus, since the clouding of the surface is prevented by the coating of the super-hydrophilic thin film without requiring a heat reservoir or heat transfer mechanism, natural characteristics of stainless mirror of low cost, small thickness and light weight are never lost. Since the mirror surface is covered with the hard chromium plating layer, it is hardly damaged. |
