The machining unit consists mainly of three essential elements which are the rotor, the phase shifting device and the device for driving the tools. The rotor (100) comprises a rotating shaft (1) and is provided, for instance, with four borings parallel to the rotation axis in which the cutter-holder axles (9a, 9b, 9c, 9d) are mounted. The infeed of the cutters into the material to be machined is controlled by the displacement of a control bush (19) bearing at its end two ellipsoid surfaces (20a, and 20b) arranged for co-operating with the helical surfaces (14a, 14b, 14c, and 14d) of the control levers integral with the tool block. The control bush can have two extreme positions and a median position. A phase shifting device comprising a pulley (22) mounted loose on a shaft (31) and a return pulley (25), enables the angular offsetting of the control bush (19) with respect to the cutter bar. |
