PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber with good temperature characteristic which is never broken even when a temperature cycle test is performed by specifying the length of the crude optical fiber part exposed from a V-groove part. SOLUTION: In this optical fiber, a lid member 3 is fixed to a block 1 by an adhesive, and a crude optical fiber 2a is fixed to a placing part 1b by an adhesive 4, and the length of the crude optical fiber part exposed from a V- groove part la is 0.8mm or less. Thus, an optical waveguide module having extremely satisfactory temperature characteristic can be provided, and the fluctuation of insertion loss can be suppressed within±0.1dB with a temperature change from -20 deg.C to 70 deg.C. The optical fiber is never broken even by a temperature cycle, and the optical waveguide module is never broken when a temperature change of -20 deg.C to 70 deg.C is added, for example, 300 times. |
