PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust the definition even of a picture signal with high density, and to suppress the increase of arithmetic processing amounts for a picture signal with low density in a picture reproducing device in which the picture signal with low density and the picture signal with high density are selectively inputted and extended, and the extended picture is reproduced by a laser image. SOLUTION: The plotted pixel size and plotted pixel density of a laser image 20 are respectively set 12 and 4 times of the conventional manner. When a picture signal with high density whose magnification is 1 is inputted, a multi- formatter 10 obtains an interpolated picture signal whose magnification is 2 times, and makes it correspond to the plotted picture element of the laser imager 20 one to one. When the picture signal with low density is inputted, the interpolated picture signal is applied to two picture elements of the two lines of the laser imager 20 as the same values so that the apparent size of the picture elements of the laser imager 20 can be equivalent to the conventional manner. |
