PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease dispersion of characteristics, a charge/discharge cycle characteristic and an operating current characteristic, of a lithium battery using a lithium iron oxide as an electrode active material. SOLUTION: In a lithium battery provided with a lithium ion conductive electrolyte layer and a pair of electrodes, as at least one electrode active material of these electrodes, a lithium iron oxide is used, which has a zigzag layered structure containing by a specific ratio at least one kind of element selected from a group consisting of aluminum or cobalt, nickel and manganese. Or a lithium iron oxide (Lix (Fe1-y My) 0z(where, 0<x<=1, 0<=y<=0.1), washed, filtered, dried, after that heated by a 100 to 250 deg.C temperature range, is used. |
