PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-valuing extension/reduction processing system by the arbitrary magnification of an inputted picture for being applied to a multi-level outputting device. SOLUTION: An expansion and reduction processing is operated to inputted picture data 11 from a binary picture signal inputting part 1 in the sequence of 1:M and N:1 by an N:M expansion/reduction processing part 2 according to expansion and reduction controlling commands 18 and 19 from expansion and reduction processing controlling parts 7 and 8 based on expansion and reduction magnification 16 and 17 by a magnification division controlling part 6, and arbitrary magnification multi-valued picture data 12 are generated. The arbitrary magnification multi-valued picture data 12 are outputted as output multi-valued picture data 13 from a picture outputting part 13 to a multi-level device. The magnification division controlling part 6 operates division according to minimum integer rates N:M by an expansion/reduction ratio integral approximating part 5 which operates approximation to a picture expansion/reduction ratio 14 from a magnification inputting part 4 to be transferred as an input, and generates the 1:M and N:1 expansion and reduction magnification 16 and 17. |
