Animal or vegetable organic matter, which may be living or dead, is purified by electrophoresis to extract unwanted ionic elements, while leaving useful elements intact. The material for treatment is placed in a bath of deionised water and treated with a broken electrical current. The frequency of the current is chosen according to the ions which are to be extracted. The broken electrical current has a frequency of 5-40 kHz. A continuous current may be superimposed on the broken current. Living organisms or seeds can be subjected directly to the broken current. Organic material is placed adjacent to the negative electrode. After treatment organic material is dried and ground. |
