PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable writing with high quality and small in reproducing error. SOLUTION: When a test recording mode is specified by an operation mode specification means 48, a recording/reproducing means 22 performs test recording by respectively changing write-in power, erase power and bottom power. The means 22 reproduces the test recording after the test recording, and obtains respective optimum values of the write-in power, the erase power and the bottom power that an asymmetric value becomes an optimum value, or a modulation factor becomes optimum or an error rate becomes the lowermost. Actual recording is performed using the combination of these optimum values. |
