PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a recognition ratio by removing the influence of a background. SOLUTION: Second-dimensional discrete Fourier transformation(DFT) processing is operated to N-dimensional pattern data to which a background separation processing is operated, and collated with a registered pattern. The DFT is operated to the picture data of a fingerprint to be collated to which the background separation processing is operated, and collation Fourier picture data (f) are prepared. The collation Fourier picture data are synthesized with registered Fourier picture data (b) of a registered fingerprint which is prepared by operating the similar processing, and an amplitude suppression processing (log processing) and the DFT are operated to synthesized Fourier picture data (d). Then, high order (n) picture elements with high intensity of correlation components are extracted from a correlation component area S0 appearing in synthesized Fourier picture data (h) to which the DFT is operated, and the average of the correlation components of those extracted (n) picture elements is defined as a correlation value, and compared with a threshold value. |
