PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the quantity of matters to be wasted by loading a sample plate containing a radioactive sample in each well to an adapter. SOLUTION: A well 16 in a sample plate 14 is fitted to a measuring hole 12 and the sample plate 14 is loaded on an adapter 10 thus forming an assembly 100. A detection unit 22 is then lowered and the front face thereof is brought into tight contact with a protective seal 20 in order to detect radiation. A collimator 26 is disposed on the front side of a semiconductor detector 24. The collimator 26 is provided with a measuring hole 12 or an opening having diameter substantially equal to that of the well 16 and only a radiation passed through the opening is detected by the semiconductor detector 24. The semiconductor detector 24 is covered, on the side thereof, with a shielding member' 28 of lead, for example. According to the structure, radiation can be detected by loading the sample plate 14 to the adapter 10 while sharing the adapter 10 and only the sample plate 14 is discarded after detection. The adapter 10 is not required to be discarded.
