PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable capable of reducing four photons- mixing without using a DCF module to reduce accumulative dispersion approximately to zero. SOLUTION: The disperseion-balanced optical fiber cable 60 is made up of a group of optical fibers 40-1 having positive coloring matter dispersion (the average of the absolute amount of dispersion of the posively dispersed optical fibers:λs =0.8ps/nm-km) and a group of optical fibers 40-2 having negative coloring matter dispersion (the average of the absolute amount of dispersion of the negatively dispersed optical fibersrs:,λs ,: 0.8 ps/nm-km). The optical fibers are suited to transmission of optical signals ib the range of 1550 nm in single mode. When the optical fibers are applied to an optical fiber-transmission system, the positively dispersed optical fibers are connected to the mating negatively dispersed optical fibers on the middle course to reduce the dispersion to zero. |
