PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle navigation apparatus by which a user can understand easily the shape of a road on which a vehicle is being traveled or a destination. SOLUTION: In a navigation apparatus, a road map which contains a vehicle position being always detected is displayed in such a way that the vehicle position is displayed in the center lower part on the display screen of a display device, and the vehicle position on the display map can be identified. In the navigation apparatus, the radius X of a circle region E in which the vehicle position is situated in the center is set according to the reduced scale of the displayed road map (S110). When a vehicle is being run on a preset guidance route, or when the vehicle is being run on a road in which a branch does not exist inside the circle region even in a road not contained in the guidance route (S120:YES; S180:NO), the road map is displayed in such a way that a crossing point in which a road extended to the advance direction of the vehicle from the vehicle position cross the boundary of the circle region E in the road being run is arranged just avobe the vehicle position (S130 to S170). |
