PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a beat noise from being superimposed on a video signal. SOLUTION: A 1st oscillator 9 generates a clock signal with a frequency relating to a resonance frequency of an ultrasonic wave motor 3. The output from a 1st oscillator 9 is frequency-divided by a frequency divider circuit 5 to generate a pulse of a resonance frequency and it is fed to the ultrasonic wave motor 3. A timing generator 17 generates a read pulse from an output of the 1st oscillator 9 and it is fed to a solid-state image pickup element 19, and the generator 17 generates a horizontal synchronizing pulse and a vertical synchronizing pulse and gives them to a signal processing circuit 21. The signal processing circuit 21 uses the output of the 1st oscillator 9 for a system clock to conduct a prescribed signal processing with respect to the video signal from the solid-state image pickup element 19.
