PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a transmission type wavelength filter used for optical fiber communications by wavelength multiplex system as a function element of an optical fiber. SOLUTION: The wavelength filter is provided with the first optical fiber 11 held by an optical fiber holding means and having an end part, ans the second optical fiber 12 provided with an end part which faces the end part of the first optical fiber and through which an outgoing light from the end part of the first optical fiber 11 comes in, and held by the optical fiber holding means. The end part of the first optical fiber 11 and the end part of the second optical fiber 12 have reflecting parts 15a, 15b respectively. A light propagated through the first optical fiber 11 is propagated through a gap 15c positioned between the reflecting parts of the end parts of the first optical fiber 11 and the second optical fiber 12 while reflection is repeated, and then propagated to the second optical fiber 12. |
