PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to easily grasp the meaning of a source sentence composed of long sentences by providing grammatical rules for selecting the part where the syntax analyzed result can be converted to the structure of a target language. SOLUTION: First, a translation control part 100 inputs the source sentence of a translation object through a source sentence input part 101. The morpheme of the inputted source sentence is extracted by a morpheme analytic part 102 while using a word dictionary 107, and it is analyzed how the morphemes are coupled to form the word. A syntax analytic part 103 performs syntax analysis from the morpheme analyzed result while using syntax analytic rules in grammatical rules 108 based on part-of-speech information, etc. Then, the plural partial trees are selected by applying syntax selection rules in the grammatical rules 108 to the syntax analyzed result by a source sentence structure selecting part 104. A translating part 105 translates the selected partial trees to the structure of the target language. Then, a generation part 106 generates the translated sentence from the transformed structure of the translated sentence and displays it on a display. |
