PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide color filters for liquid crystal display suitable for an enlarged screen and a manufacturing method therefor which allow transparent electrodes formed on a glass substrate to be decreased in resistance at inexpensive costs. SOLUTION: This color filter forms patterns of color filter layers 12 (R, G, B) of three colors, red (R), green (G), blue (B) which become picture elements on a glass substrate 11, forming black matrix layers 13 between the color filter layers 12 (R, G, B), and forming transparent electrode layers 14 on the color filter layers 12 (R, G, B). In this case, the black matrix layers 13 are composed of a conductive film, and are provided with a space 15 between the patterns in a same direction parallel with the transparent electrode layers 14, to be formed into patterns electrically insulated from each other, and the insulated patterns are electrically connected with each corresponding transparent electrode layer 14. Since the conductive black matrix layers 13 are electrically connected with the transparent layers 14, the resistance becomes low. |
