PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for transferring an NHRP(next hop resolusion protocol) packet in an NHRP protocol. SOLUTION: An NHRP server table is set in respective NHSs 100, 200 and 300. The NHRP server table holds 'LIS information and address information of NHS for controlling its LIS(logical IP sub-net)' only unless NHS controls LIS within LISs to which NHSs(NHRP server) belong. NHS refers to the NHRP server table at first so as to judge whether the NHRP packet is required to be transferred to another NHS and transfers it to NHS when NHS to which transfer is desired is registered. In other cases, a self-processing is executed like a normal manner or transfer is executed to another NHS in accordance with an IP routing table. That is, information held in the NHRP server table is made to be used before self interface information and information from the IP routing table.
