摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To indirectly calculate a mass flow rate by swirling fluid without exciting a main body through which the fluid flows. SOLUTION: A flow meter main body 1 is constituted of a straight pipe part 2 and taper a tube part 3 having a throat part 4, and fitted with a swirler 5 in a straight pipe part 2a at the upstream side, and fluid flowing in at a flowing speed V is revolved. When revolving fluid 8 flows from the throat part 4 to the taper tube part 3 while revolving in proportion to the flowing speed V, it swirls around an axis O-O while sticking to a wall face 3a by a Coanda effect. A swirl angular speedωis a valve proportional to the flowing speed V generated by the precession motion of the revolving fluid 8, and this is detected by a detector 6. The detector 6 also detects the dynamical pressure of the revolving fluid 8, and output-detects an approximating sine wave signal in proportion to the swirl angular speedωaccompanied with the dynamical pressure. An arithmetic unit 7 divides the peak value of the dynamical pressure by the swirl angular speedω, and calculates a mass flow rate.
