The cellular wheel lock (1) has a wheel (9) in the chamber (6) of a lock casing (2) with cylindrical walls (7), with input shaft (3) at the top and output shaft (4) at the bottom. The cellular wheel has several transporting cells (18) bounded by two carrier wings (12) and the chamber walls. Each transporting cell is bounded by a convex front side (13) lying in the turning direction (DR) of the cellular wheel, and the rear side (15) of a carrier wing running radially to the turning axis of the wheel. In the top of the output shaft there is an emptying device formed by a permanently loaded scraper bar (29).
