High-voltage insulator containing light guide for measurement signal and capacitive electrodes

The body (3) of the insulator is capped with a detector (14) connected to a sensor (16) of current on a high-voltage line (7). The measurement is conveyed by the light guide (15) through the internal space (13) where its voltage stress is reduced by capacitor plates (17a-17c) of metallic film alternating with paper in coaxial or concentric windings. The plates are of about equal length but offset along the axis of the insulator near its head (5). The foot (9) is turned towards earth potential and contains no electrodes.
