The tap 1 is provided with a tapered fitting member 2. This is pointed 3 at one end and recessed at its opposite end to receive the stepped end 5 of the tap's connector 6. For fitting to a container 11, the tap is offered up with member 2 to the wall (12, Fig.2) of the container. The tapered member is forced through the wall and the connector 6 follows it through the wall. An O-ring seal 7 on the connector 6 seals the aperture formed in the wall from leaking. Water in the container can however be drawn out through the tap. Once inside the container the tapered member 2 falls from the tap's connector 6, to allow water to enter the tap through the stepped end 5 of the connector. The tap is used to water a plant 17 preferably through a hollow plant support 14. |
