Method for producing curved tubular bodies for e.g. tampons

A dimensionally elastic, air-tight inner tube is drawn into a tubular wire body (1) whose outer casing surface is enclosed in a tubular jacket (3). A displacer (4) is inserted into the inner tube and positioned for moving longitudinally through the inner tubing. The displacer is positioned at a pre-set initial position. The inner tubing is pressurised so as to be in close contact with the inner casing surface of the wire tubular body. The cavity between the inner tube and the tubular jacket is filled with a pre-set quantity of setting fluid which is evenly distributed along the cavity by the movement of the displacer along the inner tubing. After the fluid has set the pressure is discontinued. After the tubular jacket is removed, a shrinkable tube is drawn over the tubular body.
