Polyazacalix5arenes of formula (I)R<1>, R<2>, R<3> = 1-12 carbon (C) alkyl, 1-8 C alkoxy, aryl (optionally substituted by halogen or 1-5 C alkyl) or hetero-aryl with sulphur (S), nitrogen (N) or oxygen (O) as hetero-atoms (optionally substituted by halogen or 1-4 C alkyl); R<4> = halogen, e.g. fluorine, chlorine (Cl), bromine or iodine.
