<p>A display defect produced by short-circuit between upper and lowe electrodes which is caused by the entrance of a conductive foreign substance is prevented by using a structure in which short-circuit between two substrates is hardly caused. An insulating film (16) made of an insulating material is formed on a wiring layer (12), a 1st electrode part (13), an insulating layer (14) and a 2nd electrode part (15). The insulating film (16) covers the whole surfaces of the wiring layer and the MIM element. A part of the insulating film (16) extends a little inside a pixel region. The part of the insulating film (16) corresponding to a pixel contact part (15b) is an opening part through which the MIM element and a pixel electrode (17) is electrically connected. The pixel electrode (17) has its circumferential edge part which is placed on the inner edge part of the insulating film (16), and in contact with the pixel contact part (15b) of the 2nd electrode part (15) through the opening part of the insulating film (16).</p> |
