<p>The wire saw comprises a rope (10), abrasive beads (12) spaced longitudinally apart on the rope (10) by elastic spacers (18) and elastic sleeves (22), one for each bead (12), sandwiched between the respective beads (12) and the rope (10). The sleeves (22) are conveniently made of rubber which is vulcanised to the rope (10) and to the beads (12). <IMAGE></p>
