The connector has a number of housings (37,39) and a cooperating cover (41). Each housing has a number of terminal reception chambers (49) with an open side (45) which is covered by the next housing or the cover. The superimposed housings are coupled to one another and the top housing is coupled to the cover via cooperating projections (51) and locating holes (55) on their abutting surfaces. The cover may have ribs (65) via which the connector is only permitted to attach to another suitable connector, which it locks with via a formation (63).
