Aqueous hair colour based on an oxidation dye precursor contains 0.25-5 wt.% ethoxylated 10-20 carbon (C) fatty acid alkanolamide (I). Preferably the colour contains 0.5-2.5 wt.% (I), especially polyethylene glycol (PEG)-5-cocomonoethanolamide (IA). It may also contain 0.25-10 wt.% ethanediol and/or propandiol 10-20 C fatty acid ester(s) and/or 0.25-10 wt.% ethoxylated and/or propoxylated 8-20 C fatty alcohol(s), especially with 5-50 ethylene oxide and/or propylene oxide units.
