Plate scanner

The scanner has an elongated, continuous sensor strip (4), at least one light source (13,14) extending parallel to the sensor strip and two or more light stops (7,8) forming an illumination window (3) for light reflected from a printed plate, whereby the breadth and length of the window are smaller than those of the sensor strip. A first number of sensor cells is integrated into the continuous sensor strip with a distance between individual cells of less than or equal to 0.127 mm or .005 inches. Amplifiers are connected to cells of the first group and to cells of a second group of sensor cells.
