The present invention relates to a vehicle seat with a seat (10), which can normally move between a lower end position and an upper end position and first means (40, 42) capable of cushioning/damping movements of the seat in a vertical direction. The invention is characterised in that the seat also comprises second means (40, 50) capable of locking the position of the seat at an optional height between said end positions.
