The mirror (B) is mounted to a support console (A) via two parallel arms (5,6). One arm (5) is driven by a servo motor (3) while the other arm is free moving. The driving arm is attached to the back of the mirror by a universal joint (10) while the driven arm is attached to the mirror by a joint (11) with two orthogonal pivot axes. When not required the mirror is stored in the retracted setting flat under the console. The shape of the support arms and their relative lengths are selected to impart a twist action as the mirror is deployed and to hold the mirror at the correct viewing angle when deployed. In the deployed position one arm is pushed against a peg (15) in the console.
