The machine has two rippled rollers (2,3) for producing ripples (41) on the paperboard (40). A glue applicator (13) applies glue on the peaks of the ripples and a pressing device presses a board (43) onto the glued peaks. The machine has a pressure unit having several tensioning devices next to each other over the whole width (d) of a pressure belt (19) made of synthetic material. The devices are tensioning rollers which are movable at right angles to their axes (39) and which are mounted on a common stationary roller carrier (23). The tensioning rollers are movable more or less parallel to the run-off direction of the paperboard web from the pressure region.
