Personal sun visors are designed to protect the pupils of the eyes from direct sunlight when the sun is at a low elevation. The visors are attached to a supporting frame, or can be incorporated as an integral part of a frame, in such a manner as to be held at a constant height, relative to the head. Part 16 may be mounted in a frame and may slide in it (Figs 5, 6). In normal wear, the bottom edge of the visors should be above the normal horizontal line of sight, leaving clear vision below the visors. In order to bring the visors into effect, the wearer need only incline their head slightly in order to position the visors between the sun and the pupils of the eyes to achieve the desired shade.
