PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a card-recording apparatus which is widely applicable to various kinds of heat-sensitive recording media of different recording energies and is resistant to an environmental change such as a voltage change, a temperature change, etc. SOLUTION: The apparatus has a setting memory part 14 for storing resistance values of heat-generating bodies of a thermal head 61, a temperature detection part 50 for detecting a temperature of the thermal head, a voltage detection part 51 for impressing a voltage to the thermal head 61, and a means for selecting a recording energy corresponding to a printing density or a type of cards. A power feed time to the heat-generating bodies of the thermal head 61 is determined on the basis of information obtained from the means, thereby to control the amount of the recording energy to be optimum. The apparatus can handle a plurality of recording media of different recording energies with a small amount of control data in a simple method and can record to the recording media in an optimum energy state at all times even if a voltage or a temperature changes. |
