PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-odor binder for a low-release coating compsn. which mainly comprises a water-base polymer dispersion having a film-forming temp. of 10 deg.C or lower and can dispense with a solvent. SOLUTION: A water-base polymer dispersion is obtd. by the free-radical waterbase emulsion polymn. of a monomer mixture contg. 45-70 pts.wt. at least one monomer of which the homopolymer has a glass transition point lower than 20 deg.C. 30-55 pts.wt. at least one monomer of which the homopolymer has a glass transition point higher than 50 deg.C, 0-1 pt.wt. at least one monomer having an acid group, and 0-2 pts.wt. at least one other monomer selected from among a 3-6Cα, '-unsatd. carboxamide, its 2-6C hydroxyalkyl ester, and an N- vinyllactam. |
