PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the obtaining of a herbicidal composition capable of efficiently controlling strongly noxious weeds with a low dose in a short period by including a microorganism of the genus Epicoccosorus (including Eoicoccosorus nematosporus gen. et sp. nov.) and a phenoxycarboxylic acid derivative therein. SOLUTION: This herbicidal composition comprises a microorganism belonging to Epicoccosorus nematosporus and a phenoxycarboxylic acid derivative represented by the formula [X is Cl or CH3 ; R is an alkali metal, a dialkylammonium or an alkyl; (n) is 1-5] as active ingredients. An Epicoccosorus nematosporus JTK-003 strain, etc., are cited as the microorganism and sodium 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetate monohydrate, etc., are cited as the compound represented by the formula. The herbicidal composition is capable of controlling weeds of the family Cyperaceae such as barnyard grass, bulrushes or water nutgrass and is especially effective against strongly noxious weeds including water chestnut and useful as an agricultural material. |
